Asko dishwasher Rotu emailed with some helpful info, so here is the additional you requested. The dishwasher continues to fill as long as the water is turned on to the appliance and then it will drain. For some reason this cycle continues. The repairman said it needed a new control board. Is this the case and is there anything else I can do?

You could have a bad fill valve that doesnt close. Try unplugging the unit or turning off the power at the cuircuit breaker. (not the power button) If it still fills when you turn on the water, it just has a bad fill valve. If it does not fill, take apart the door and check for broken wires at the lower left corner and see if the wiring is shorted together. If it is not, you may have a stuck relay on the control board. Sometimes those realy stick, and if you can get to the board (located in the upper left corne of the door) you can tap on the relays with a small hammer or screwdriver handle one at a time (with the unit unplugged!) and some times they will unstick and be fine. Very low tech, I Know...but you are trying to avoid a board replacement. Good Luck!
