It is important to understand when the engine overheats, at idle or low speeds like stop and go traffic, or all the time. If it runs hot at idle speeds or slow speeds where little air is moving through the radiator you most likely have a cooling fan problem. This truck has an engine driven mechanical fan and the likely hood that is causing it to overheat is small. Have the lock up viscous fan clutch tested by a shop and see if it is working correctly. Do not drive this if it is getting into the red zone, you can severely damage the engine.
