2001 Ford Focus recharge ac? I am trying to recharge my 2001 Ford focus via the low pressure port on the right side of the car beside the front passenger tire. *** the system charge it makes the engine sputter. I am guessing there is a leak or something that is causing that. Though I'm not sure. What would cause that. I don't want to continue to charge it for fear it will mess up the engine.

You charge it at the smaller of the two AC lines from the compressor using a pressure gage, when the low side pressure is at 28-32 PSI the system is charged, I think you are overcharging the system which loads up the engine and causes it to slow down. CHECK THE LOW SIDE PRESSURE!
