How to Prevent iPhone from Updating iOS
Are you getting sick and tired of your iPhone constantly asking you to update your iOS version? We’ll take you through the process of putting a stop to the endless nags you receive from your own iPhone! In order to stop the nagging from your iPhone, you’ll have to disable the automatic updates, and you’ll also delete the download causing the update. We’ll start with disabling the automatic updates:
Disable the Automatic iOS Updates
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap ‘iTunes & App Store’
3. Switch off ‘Updates’. If the toggle is green, you’ll need to switch it to the off position by tapping on it.
Delete Latest iOS Download
It’s important to note that you’re not deleting the current iOS version that you’re on. You’re only deleting the version that your iPhone keeps nagging you to update to.
1. Open the Settings app on your phone
2. Tap ‘General’
3. Tap ‘iPhone Storage’
4. Tap the iOS version at the top. As you can see, this is not the version of iOS you’re currently using, it’s only the iOS version your iPhone is nagging you to update to.
5. Tap ‘Delete Update’
6. Tap ‘Delete Update’ again. You’ll have to confirm your update by tapping the ‘Delete Update’ option in the popup window.
