So you entered the wrong amount, sent your payment to the wrong recipient, or made another mistake in Paypal. How do you cancel a paypal payment?

Well, that depends on the status of the payment. If the payment has already been “completed”, then you’ll have to reach out to the seller to request a refund. However, if the payment is still unclaimed or pending, you will have the ability to cancel your payment so that it doesn’t go through.

If you’re unsure of how to cancel a payment, or would like to know if your payment is eligible for cancellation, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your Paypal Account

  1. Click the “Activity” tab located at the top of your screen.

  1. Locate the payment you’d like to cancel
  2. Click “Cancel”. If your payment is eligible for cancellation, you’ll see a “Cancel” button under the payment. If you don’t see a cancel button, your payment is not eligible for cancellation, and you’ll have to reach out directly to the recipient.

  1. Click “Cancel Payment”
