How to Remove a Virus from your iPhone

iOS is particularly effective at preventing your iPhone from getting infected with a virus. However, that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. If your iPhone get’s infected with a malicious virus, there are a number of ways to try to remove the virus from your iPhone. We’ve outline 4 effective strategies for removing a virus from your iPhone below. Feel free to give each one a try! Restart your iPhone One of the easiest, but most effective ways to get rid of a virus on your iPhone is to restart it. To restart your iPhone, simply hold down the power knob on the right side of your iPhone until the power toggle appears on your screen. When you see the power toggle, swipe it to the right. When your phone has shut completely off, press the power knob again to turn it back on. Restore your Phone from a Previous Backup Version An effective way to remove a virus from your iPhone is to restore it to a previous version. By restoring your iPhone to a previous version, you can potentially restore it to a version that did not have the virus. Clear the Browsing History One of the most common ways to get a virus is to click on a malicious link while browsing. If so, the virus could still be stored on your browser, so the best way to get rid of the virus is to clear your browsing history. The two most common browsers for iPhone users are Safari and Chrome. We’ve detailed out step by step how to clear your browsing history for both browsers below: How to Clear your Browsing History on Safari: 1. Open the settings app 2. Scroll down until you’re able to find ‘Safari’ and tap on it. 3. Tap the ‘Clear History and Website Data’ button. It will appear near the bottom of the screen. 4. Select ‘Clear History and Data’ when you are prompted to confirm your decision.   How to Clear your Browsing History on Chrome: 1. Open the Chrome app 2. Tap the menu button. It’s located in the lower right hand corner of your screen. 3. Select History 4. Select ‘Clear Browsing History’ 5. Select the time range you’d like to clear. It will be located in the upper right hand corner of your screen. If you’d like to clear everything, select ‘All Time’. 6. Select data you’d like to clear. Go back, and select which sources of information you’d like to clear by tapping on each row. For example, if you’d only like to clear your browsing history, select the first row labeled ‘Browsing History’. 7. Tap ‘Clear browsing data’ It will be located at the bottom of your screen. Reset your Content and Settings Only use this option as a final option. The reason that you should try all three other options first, is that resetting your content and settings will erase all of your iPhone data. If you choose this option, be sure to back everything up before proceeding. If you’re ready to proceed, follow the steps below to reset your content and settings: 1. Tap ‘Settings’. 2. Tap ‘General’ 3. Tap ‘Reset’ 4. Tap ‘Erase All Content and Settings’ 5. If you have not backed up your data, tap ‘Finish Uploading Then Erase’. If you are ready to Erase, tap ‘Erase’. 6. You’re done!

How to Prevent iPhone from Updating iOS

Are you getting sick and tired of your iPhone constantly asking you to update your iOS version? We’ll take you through the process of putting a stop to the endless nags you receive from your own iPhone! In order to stop the nagging from your iPhone, you’ll have to disable the automatic updates, and you’ll also delete the download causing the update. We’ll start with disabling the automatic updates: Disable the Automatic iOS Updates 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Tap ‘iTunes & App Store’ 3. Switch off ‘Updates’. If the toggle is green, you’ll need to switch it to the off position by tapping on it. Delete Latest iOS Download It’s important to note that you’re not deleting the current iOS version that you’re on. You’re only deleting the version that your iPhone keeps nagging you to update to. 1. Open the Settings app on your phone 2. Tap ‘General’ 3. Tap ‘iPhone Storage’ 4. Tap the iOS version at the top. As you can see, this is not the version of iOS you’re currently using, it’s only the iOS version your iPhone is nagging you to update to. 5. Tap ‘Delete Update’ 6. Tap ‘Delete Update’ again. You’ll have to confirm your update by tapping the ‘Delete Update’ option in the popup window.

Contacting Apple support or customer service

Apple customer support and customer service can be contacted via phone, email, and chat. Like most companies, Apple uses Call centers manned by agents to answer their customer inquiries. These call centers are located throughout the US and in many cases also India, the Philippines, and other foreign countries. Apple customer support agents receive basic training to support Apple products and services, and have access to customer information, purchase history, and prior customer support inquiries.

In order to answer customer inquiries, Apple support agents have templated and scripted answers to common questions. If Apple agents do not know how to answer specific customer questions, they usually consult a supervisor who received further training.

Since Apple can hire a limited number of support agents in any given time, often customers have to wait on hold until one of the agent is available to take their call. To handle surges in incoming customer support calls, Apple uses Interactive Voice Response Systems (IVR’s) to handle large volume of incoming customer calls. That is one of the reasons why often customers need to wait on hold and talk to automated systems before speaking to a human representative.

How is getting help from 6YA different from Apple?

6YA is a service that connects users who need technical or repair help with a professional Expert over the phone or video. All 6YA Experts have real repair experience and are located throughout the US. The idea behind 6YA is to connect consumers at need with a real technician who is getting paid to take their call. Unlike Apple, 6YA Experts are independent contractors who do not have any access to Apple customer information or purchases.

While 6YA Experts can provide effective help on any Apple product or service, they do not have access to your Apple account and can’t assist with billing, or any non technical issue you have with Apple.

Since 6YA is using a proprietary technology that’s connecting you to Experts in seconds, you will never be placed on hold or talk to virtual response systems. We believe that 6YA Experts can provide professional and unbiased help, which will often be more effective than the scripted and templated answers from Apple agents.

What is 6YA’s relationship with Apple?

6YA and Apple are not related. While 6YA Experts can provide help and support on most Apple products and services, the two companies are not related. 6YA was created because we believe that in many cases, real professionals with years of hands on experience fixing and resolving technical issues can provide better help than call center agents that use virtual answering services and scripted responses.

6YA is able to connect you to a repair Expert in seconds through the robust technology it created. We use several algorithms to identify the best Expert who can assist with your particular issue, get them on the phone, and then connect you so you are never placed on hold. We strongly believe that customers who encounter technical challenges or issues operating their products should not endure more stress and friction before getting help. On the other hand, there are so many professional repairmen with decades of experience who can help so many customers such as yourself and generate extra cash along the way.

Our mission is to help people solve everyday problems by using technology to simplify our lives rather than add more friction.
